Contenders Football Rookie Ticket Autographs have a lot of tradition. That's a huge part of their appeal. Besides the ongoing ticket style, another recurring theme in the popular subset is variation short prints. 2012 Panini Contenders Football is no different.
As in past years, collectors can look for lots of rookie variations. Some of the differences are easy to spot, with different colored jerseys or wildly different poses. Some are a lot more subtle and might require a second look.

Variations also have a difference on the back of the card as well. Regular rookie cards have vital stats and draft info written placed in the bars above and below the team logo. Variations have just solid-colored bars and no text.
It appears as though almost all of the Rookie Ticket Autographs have a variation, although we have not seen them for a couple of players yet. Also, it doesn't look as though any of the high-numbered Rookie Ticket Autographs, numbers 236 to 245 have a variation.
2012 Panini Contenders Football Rookie Ticket Autograph variations carry over to redemptions. Panini has taken away the guesswork and noted whether the redemption is for the regular version of the card or the variation.
