1951 Topps Blue Backs Baseball Cards

Topps produced its first baseball cards in 1951 with two different sets called Red Backs and Blue Backs. These sets were like playing cards with rounded corners with either blue or red on one side. The blue backed cards are the more valuable and rare of the two.

The other side was the player in a baseball diamond along with a picture of a baseball and event. The Red Backs and Blue Backs cards could also be used for playing a game similar to a baseball game. There were 52 cards in the set.
