1965 Topps Gilligan’s Island Trading Cards
Product Details
Like the show, 1965 Topps Gilligan's Island remains one of the era's most popular entertainment trading card sets. The combination of a memorable show with a long legacy and an interactive design that has left many cards damaged have driven up prices of high-grade singles.
1965 Topps Gilligan's Island card fronts are done entirely in black and white. Images come from show stills and promotional shots. Most come with speech bubbles, complete with bad jokes. Would collectors expect anything different from a set based on Gilligan, the Skipper and the rest of the S.S. Minnow's passengers? A Gilligan's Island logo sits in a corner of the card.
Both the top and bottom of the card backs have a different set of images. One is framed in a red film strip, the other in a black film strip. The idea is that collectors can make a pair of animated flip movies with the cards. This has resulted in top-condition cards being even rarer as these flip movies make for easy creasing.
1965 Topps Gilligan's Island has a 55-card checklist.

I’ve inherited a full set of these cards, except that the top and bottom of the card backs are framed differently – One is framed in a grey film strip, the other in a black film strip. It also contains the wording – “Limited Edition Reprint-2,500 Issued”.
Do you have any information about this set? How would it compare in value to the originals? Thanks, Mark
