Halloween is right around the corner and I want to know one thing. Which players have haunted you? Whenever you open a pack or box which players do you keep pulling out? This year for me I keep pulling out cards of Matt Forte from the Chicago Bears. Below is a list of cards I have pulled of him so far this year. Notice that there are no duplicates.
- 2008 Upper Deck Draft base
- 2008 Upper Deck Draft Auto
- 2008 Press Pass Reflectors #'ed/500
- 2008 Leaf Certified Materials Red Certified Potential #'ed/250
- 2008 Leaf Certified Materials Jumbo Jersey #'ed/599
- 2008 Leaf Certified Materials Fabric of the Game 2 Color Patch #'ed/25
- 2008 Leaf Certified Materials Mirror Blue Jersey/Shoe/Football Auto #'ed/100
- 2008 Bowman Sterling Auto #'ed/1050
- 2008 Topps Finest Auto #'ed/1999
- 2008 Topps Finest Ref #'ed/699
I can't believe that I have pulled that many cards of Matt Forte. This could be a sign that he is going to go on and have a Hall of Fame career or it is possible that he could end up being another bust. Now its your turn. Who keeps haunting you?

Mike Rabelo, backup catcher for the Florida Marlins and Brian Stokes, pitcher for the Rays. They are both mediocre players at best and I have pulled way too many of their cards. I’ll tell you what – I will trade all of my Rabelo AND Stokes cards for your Forte Cards:)
I do think Forte is the real deal. The problem is that when it comes to running backs in the NFL things can change in the blink of an eye. Unless a RB can develop the skills necessary to avoid absorbing direct hits from defenders (such as a Marshall Faulk, Warrick Dunn, or Barry Sanders) their careers are likely to be pretty short lived as a result of injuries. Unless, of course, you have “Turner The Burner” like we do. He is a beast that simply tears through opponents, tossing cornerbacks to the side like rag dolls.

Unfortunately for me, I don’t seem to get to rip many packs these days. However, I can recount a time that I bought a box of 2005 Bowman Chrome Draft off of Ebay. I bought the box for about $150 (the height of the ‘05 BCD craze) and had dreams of pulling a Ryan Braun, Jacoby Ellsbury, Colby Rasmus, or Ryan Zimmerman auto. My Bowman Chrome buzz was quickly dashed by a Signs of the Future David Murphy autograph. Selling for a paltry $3-4 on Ebay, this had to be my single worst pull from a nice product….ever.
