Upper Deck Announces Release of Pro Shots Sports Figurines
Upper Deck issued a press release Tuesday announcing the debut of their latest sports figure product line, Pro Shots. Pro Shots will feature two of Upper Deck's most high profile spokesmen - Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. The Pro Shots Product Line will pay homage to these two superstars by depicting the defining moments in each of their respective professional sports careers that cemented their status as legends.
Upper Deck utilized 3D face scanning technology to assist in making each of the 6 inch tall Pro Shots figures as realistic looking as possible. Each Pro Shots figure will be individually packaged inside a clear “in the moment" diorama-style display box, and will be paired with a commerative Upper Deck trading card of the event being depicted.
Michael Jordan will be featured twice in the Pro Shots set. The first MJ figurine, “1998 NBA Finals Last Shot" , will celebrate his incredible Game 6 Heroics in the 1998 NBA Finals. The other MJ figurine, “1985 Slam Dunk Competition", will chronicle his first of many appearances in the annual NBA Slam Dunk Event that would eventually earn him the distinction as being one of the greatest dunkers of all time.
Tiger Woods will also be featured twice in Pro Shots. “2000 PGA Championship" will, as the name implies, celebrate his PGA Championship back in 2000. The focus of the second Pro Shots Tiger Woods figure is his the 1997 Masters, which was his first major championship win in the PGA. At 21, he became the youngest Masters champion ever.
The suggested retail price for each one of these four figures is between $15.99 and $19.99.
Upper Deck has also launched a hobby exclusive line of these action figures called Pro Shots Ultimate. This parallel set depicts the same four moments listed above, but are made of high-quality polyresin, stand 12" tall, and weigh 10 pounds apiece. The suggested retail price for each individual Pro Shots Ultimate figure is $199.99. The two Jordan variations are limited to 2,023, while the Tiger keepsakes are both limited to 2,000.
