2011 Topps UFC Moment of Truth Product Review
Reviewed by Kerwin Leong
Good: Colorful and creative card designs, glossy base cards showcase amazing photography inside the Octagon, Fight Posters and Showdown Shots inserts, 220 base cards including the first Strikeforce cards in a UFC product.
Bad: White borders seem very plain, card backs lack fighter information and statistics, takes more than one box to complete the base set, majority of the insert sets have a horizontal layout.
The Bottom Line: 2011 Topps UFC Moment of Truth is an affordable MMA product that is filled with value. You are guaranteed three hits per box including one dual-hit card, one autograph card, and one relic card. Each box also boasts a ton of insert cards.
Card Design: 4.5/5.0
I like the photography and action shots used on the base cards. You get great photos from different angles inside the Octagon. The cards have a glossy surface with white borders. Card backs lack fighter information and MMA record. Insert cards range from standard parallel cards to the colorful and appealing Collision Course, Showdown Shots, and Fight Posters. The Fight Poster cards are my favorite inserts. Memorabilia cards include swatches from fighter-worn gear and fight mats.
Checklist: 4.5/5.0
The checklist has 220 base cards from the current UFC roster, as well as Hall of Famers, Octagon Girls and UFC personalities. The set also includes fighters from Strikeforce, such as Cris Cyborg Santos, Miesha Tate, Gilbert Melendez, Robbie Lawler, and Ryan Couture. Unfortunately there are no cards of Alistair Overeem.
Value: 5.0/5.0
Each box has 16 packs with ten cards per pack. You are guaranteed three hits per box including one dual hit card, one autograph card and one relic card. You will also get a ton of inserts. Low-numbered parallels, including one-of-one printing plates, add even more value. Considering the cost of most card boxes today, this is a bargain with huge upside.
The Fun Factor: 4.5/5.0
Whenever you open a box of cards, you should always be excited with anticipation. Being a MMA fan, I loved how Topps incorporated so many elements of the UFC into this product. There are enough nice-looking cards in this product to appeal to a huge mix of MMA collectors. Topps has done a great job at balancing who to include from the ever-expanding UFC roster with such notable inclusions as Dana White, Joe Rogan, Arianny Celeste, and Brittney Palmer. With so many possibilities at a reasonable price, this is a standout set.

Boasting three hits per box, a stylized base card design and the first Topps Strikeforce cards, the hobby-exclusive Moment of Truth has plenty to make it distinct from other recent UFC releases.
