Islanders Phenom and Hobby Powerhouse John Tavares easily held onto the top spot in spite of being passed by the Av's Matt Duchene in rookie scoring. The 3rd overall pick in the 09' Draft will probably never pass Tavares in the RCR (Rookie Cardboard Rankings), but he did jump 2 spots this week to #4. If Duchene continues to play well and the Avs continue to win, he could challenge "The 55 Point Phenom", Bucks PG Brandon Jennings. Tyreke Evans continues to prove that he is hands down the best rookie in basketball. The seperation between Evans and Jennings is much wider than people reallize. Stephen Curry is heating up, averaging 24.5 PPG over his last 4 games and is shooting over 50% from beyond the arc in January. Jonny Flynn and Ty Lawson have both improved drastically since the season tipped off. Flynn's play seems to be improving on a game to game basis and as a result, the Wolves Coaching staff is steadily increasing his role. Ty Lawson's jump in the rankings has a lot to do with his surprising play (9.4 PPG, 50.4% FG%) , his Tarheel petigree, and the Nuggets rise to the ranks of the NBA's Elite. After much deliberation, Orioles Catcher Matt Weiters has cracked the top 25 based on his potential and the position he plays. I want to put Victor Hedman on here, but he simply isn't living up to his sky high book price, and there are 2 other Defenders (Tyler Myers and Michael Del Zotto) who deserve to be ahead of him.

The Big Questions that could shape Next Week's Rankings:
Can Stephen Curry continue to play himself into into the "Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings" conversation? How will the collecting community respond to the Performances of Percy Harvin, Mark Sanchez, and Shonn Greene after the Vikings and Jets failed to reach the Super Bowl? Will Shonn Greene's injury hurt his otherwise spectacular Post Season run? Will the Vikings heart breaking loss and fumble hurt Percy's off-season value? Was Mark Sanchez's stat line good enough for collectors outside of New York to consider him more than a "caretaker" Quarterback? Can Matt Duchene maintain his points lead over John Tavares? Tune in next week to find out!

Okay……here is my .02. Yes, it looks like Tavares is ahead in the popularity contest for NHL rookies and his cardboard is showing the same at the top of the roller coaster. I do believe that there needs be be a big look at Matt Duchene, Avalanche C, and there will be a big turnaround in the near future so get those Duchene cardboard’s while you can and this may move into the #1 spot for NHL cardboard popularity!!!!!!
Again, my .02!!!!
