eBay Idiot of the Week: Man With the Mint Condition Redemption
This week's eBay Idiot has an eye for grading redemptions and demands 5-6 times the going rate for his "mint" Demaryius Thomas Absolute redemption.
Demaryius Thomas' 2010 Absolute autographed rookie card has been consistently selling for around $10. It has a “book value" of $25.00. What is the seller asking for it? $60 dollars (or best offer).
A fellow collector messaged the seller to inform him that the requested price is twice the book price and that the same card has been selling for ten bucks. He then made the seller an offer of twenty dollars, twice the going rate. The seller countered with a much improved offer of $50 dollars.
But the funniest thing about this seller is that he is advertising a redemption card as being in MINT condition!
I mean really?? For one, the centering is completely lopsided on the "scratch off" portion of the redemption, looks like a "Pro Mint" 7 at best to me (PSA or BGS 4 if they graded redemptions).
