Ryan Kesler Rookie Card Checklist

Ryan Kesler Rookie Card Checklist

After knocking off the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks, the Vancouver Canucks are in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994. Ryan Kesler has been the breakout star for the team, notching clutch goals in each of the first three rounds.

Selected with the 23rd pick of the 2003 draft, Kesler has spent his entire NHL career thus far with Vancouver. A standout on the U.S. national squad, Kesler's other honors include a World Junior Championship and an Olympic silver medal.

Kesler rookie cards can be found at all price levels, ranging from the premium 2003-04 Parkhurst game-used jersey cards down to the much cheaper 2003-04 Topps Traded base card. Several serial-numbered issues from Pacific offer solid value options. However, the likely "must-have" rookie card of Kesler is his 2003-04 Upper Deck "Young Guns" card.

Ryan's collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection. Ryan can be found on Twitter @tradercracks and Google+.
