Bart Starr played his entire professional career with the Green Bay Packers. Selected in the 17th round as the 199th overall pick, few could have imagined the young kid from Alabama would go on to have one of the most dominant quarterback careers the NFL has ever seen.
Winner of five NFL Championships, including the first two Super Bowls, Starr's on-field leadership was often compared in military terms as “the field general." Never was this term more applicable than in his two Super Bowl wins where he won game MVP honors. Ranked by NFL.com as the 51st best player of all-time, he was a four-time Pro-Bowl selection, won the league MVP in 1966 and was named to the 1960's All-Decade team. Starr was elected to the Professional Football Hall of Fame in 1977 and has had his jersey #15 retired by the Packers.
Starr has only one rookie card, which is found in 1957 Topps Football. Because of his popularity, longevity in the league and Hall of Fame credentials, he has several autographed and memorabilia cards collectors can choose from. Some of his most popular autographed cards are of the hard-signed ones from brands such as Fleer Greats of the Game and Upper Deck Legends. The fanatical nature of the Packers faithful means that anything with his signature carries value. Despite plenty of material, his secondary market prices have held up extremely well.

1957 Topps Card #119
Starr's only rookie card, pictures the young quarterback in both a portrait and action photo. The horizontal layout of the card is split evenly in two to accommodate both photographs. The classic color usage is indicative of 1950s cards and works well with the split image.
