One Last Vote to Finalize Fan-Chosen Insert Set in NBA Hoops 2011-2012
The player checklist is pretty much set. Now, only the design remains for the 2011-2012 NBA Hoops insert set chosen entirely by the fans. "A Night to Remember" will cover 20 players and their single-game NBA records. The players and their achievements are listed below in order of voting:
- Regular Season: Wilt Chamberlain's single-game scoring record
- NBA Finals: Dwight Howard's single-game blocks record
- NBA Finals: Magic Johnson's single-game assists record
- Regular Season: Kobe Bryant's single-game 3-pointers made record
- NBA Finals: Bill Russell's single-game rebounds record
- Playoffs: Magic Johnson's single-game assists record (tie)
- Regular Season: Wilt Chamberlain's single-game rebounds record
- Playoffs: Wilt Chamberlain's single-game rebounds record
- NBA Finals: Ray Allen's single-game 3-pointers made record
- NBA Finals: Elgin Baylor's single-game points record
- Playoffs: John Stockton's single-game assists record (tie)
- Playoffs: Hakeem Olajuwon's single-game blocks record (tie)
- NBA Finals: Dwyane Wade's single-game free throws made record
- Playoffs: Ray Allen's single-game 3-pointers made record (tie)
- Playoffs: Bob Cousy's single-game free throws made record

The last decision to be made for the insert set is how the cards will look. Panini has provided five card samples to choose from. Visit Panini's blog to view the options.
Although the list of players was final, it was reopened after Dirk Nowitzki made an NBA Playoff-record 24 straight free throws in Game One of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. If the fans decide to include Nowitzki's new record, that achievement will replace Vince Carter's single-game record for three-pointers. Collectors are encouraged to voice their thoughts on Panini's blog as to whether or not Carter should be replaced on the checklist in favor of Nowitzki's recent record-breaking performance.
For the past several weeks, Panini has allowed basketball fans to vote for the insert set they wanted to see. Previous surveys have helped determine the theme and roster for the set.
