Upper Deck Announces Debut of Fight Strap Cards in 2008-09 NHL SP Game Used
Upper Deck has announced the birth of the newest member of the Game Used Memorabilia Card Family - Game Used Fight Strap Cards. For those who are unfamiliar with what a "Fight Strap" is, the term refers to a small strap that is put on the back of a Hockey Player's Jersey to help prevent their jersey from coming off in the event that they are involved in an in game fight. Due to the small size of a fight strap not many cards can be produced from them, making them quite rare.
Fight Strap Cards will debut in Upper Deck's upcoming release of 2008-09 SP Game Used Hockey Cards in the Famous Fight Straps insert set. They will come as both singles and combos, with the latter being the rarer pull of the two. The singles will be serial numbered #/3 and the combo versions will all be numbered 1/1. All of the Famous Fight Straps Inserts will be produced on thick card stock that is comparable to the thickness of patch cards.
2008-09 NHL SP Game Used is currently scheduled for nationwide release on January 28th.
