Law of Cards: Will the Durantula Case Settle Over the Holidays?

It looks like there's a good chance that Mark Durante and Panini's skirmish over "Durantula" may settle shortly after Turkey Day.

This week, the court issued a minute entry indicating that a settlement conference will take place on November 27.

Legal translation: Getting with the spirit of the holidays, the court ordered the parties to sit down and see if they can't wrap this case up.

Given this is five days after Thanksgiving, the parties will have sufficient tryptophan and endorphins rolling through their systems from leftover-turkey splurges. Hopefully this will make everyone feel friendly and lead to a resolution.

Now, there's no guarantee of settlement, but given this is a relatively small case and the amount of damages that Durante could collect are likely pretty small, I'd say odds are in favor that it will settle before Santa comes to visit.

Otherwise, Santa might just have to stuff both of their stockings with coal.
