History of Trading Cards Seminar Planned for Chicago-Area Residents

Cardboard Connection Radio's Doug Cataldo is excited to present a seminar on the history of trading cards on Tuesday, October 16 to Chicago-area residents.

The presentation takes place at the Huntley Area Public Library from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Doug will cover the rich history of the hobby, dating back to its origins as premiums and advertisements. He will then discuss how it evolved into a multi-million dollar industry.

A question and answer session follows the discussion. Doug will also be on hand to look at and appraise any cards or collectibles attendees might have or be curious about.

To register, people can call 847-669-5386 Ext. 21.

Ryan's collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.
