The rise of the baseball card over the last 100 years has been nothing short of amazing. Along with the vast increase in the popularity of the baseball card hobby has come an equally impressive rise in value. Because of the nature of the baseball card market it is difficult to set a definite price tag on the value of a baseball card. The value of baseball cards are fundamentally dependent on the law of supply and demand. Additional factors that are used to calculate the "real" dollar value of a baseball card are its condition, and the popularity of the player represented on the card.
Business and Finance Juggernaut, Forbes.com, recently published an article highlighting what they considered to be the 10 most valuable baseball cards of all time. Forbes' list contains no more then one card per player, less the list be entirely made up of Honus Wagner, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle cards. The list is as follows:
