Buster Posey Named NL Rookie of the Year, Neftali Feliz Named AL Rookie of the Year
According to ESPN, San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and Texas Rangers closer Neftali Feliz have won the 2010 Rookie of the Year awards in their respective leagues.
Posey won the National League Rookie of the Year award by drawing 20 out of a possible 32 first place votes. The Giants called up the 23-year old Catcher in late May and the blue chip prospect responded by hitting .305 with 18 home runs, 58 Runs, and 67 RBIs in 108 games for the 2010 World Series champs.
Feliz set an MLB rookie record by recording 40 saves on the season and was a key cog in the Rangers run to the World Series. The Rangers' righty reliever finished first on 20 out of a possible 28 ballots. The 22-year old Feliz finished the season with a 4-3 record, 2.73 ERA, 40 saves, and struck out 71 batters in 69.1 innings.
Voting was done by two BBWAA members in each league city after the conclusion of the 2010 regular season.
