There is little question that sports card collectors generally enjoy trading with one another. Trading allows collectors to build their trading card collections in an inexpensive and enjoyable manner. The producers behind one of ABC's most successful reality shows hope to find a few such trade-happy collectors who are willing to up the stakes beyond the traditional exchange of cardboard. The name on the show says it all - Wife Swap.
The producers of the show, which is entering its 5th season, announced late Wednesday that they are in search of families who are collectors. If you think you have the best collection around, then they want to hear from you. Applicants must, however, be part of a two-parent home that includes one or more children between the ages of 7 and 17 who live their full time.
The premise of Wife Swap is simple enough: for seven days, two wives from two different families with very different values and interests exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover what it's like to live a different family's life. This is an authentic reality show that is filmed as a documentary series, by a small and unobtrusive camera crew.
Families that appear on the show will receive a generous financial honorarium. Additionally, individuals who refer a family that ends up appearing on the show will receive a $1000 finders fee.
Those who are interested in participating in the show are asked to email Gaby Wilson.
