2009 Topps Magic Football Product Preview
Four years before Topps released the now famous 1955 Topps College All-American Set, the company issued a less heralded 75-card set that featured the top collegiate football stars of the day. The set, 1951 Topps Magic was one of Topps’ first ever releases nationwide. They earned the label "Magic" because each card had a rub-off portion on the back that revealed an answer to a trivia question. More then a half century after the set's release it is headed for storeshelves once again, in true Allen and Ginter, Mayo, and Goudey like fashion.
2009 Topps Magic Football is fueled by one of Topps largest autograph sets to date. The autograph set consists of 250 different players, including John Elway (Stanford), Dan Marino (Pitt), Terry Bradshaw (Louisiana Tech), Eric Dickerson (SMU) Bo Jackson (Auburn), Tony Romo (Eastern Illinois), Jim Brown (Syracuse), and many more.
