Mike Smeth is the CEO and Founder of The Cardboard Connection. After collecting baseball cards as a child, he took a 12-year hiatus from the hobby. One muggy summer day in 2006 he unexpectedly came across his childhood card collection while packing up for a move. He began sorting through them so he could sell them on Craigslist. Somewhere between the 3rd and 4th box, he rediscovered his passion for collecting and hasn't looked back since. You can find Mike on Google+ and Twitter @mikesmethcc.

  1. I follow and read your articles every day, but since I don’t live in the US or Canada I’m not allowed to participate?
    That sucks.

  2. Yeah. We only recently added this stipulation because of mounting international shipping costs that were really starting to add up. What country are you located in?

  3. I’m located in Taiwan. I understand about the costs. What about paying your own shipping costs on cards that you win? Sounds fair to me.
Oh well, thanks for replying in any case.

  4. Excellent givesways! I can’t wait to see who wins!

  5. Andre -

I’m looking into the potential for adding additional countries to our list of participating countries. There are a number of legal hurdles, so it will come down to what my lawyers tell me and how much it cost me to be compliant with international law. I can’t make any promises other then I will do my best to make this happen. Thanks for your support!

  6. Congrats guys. Great prizes to get and keep up the fantastic work CCC. Thanks

  7. I like the idea of the Taiwan subscriber saying he will pay his own way. Why shouldn’t everyone be included, they sell cards there don’t they ? Don’t be so cheap, pay the shipping.

  8. Congrats Justin Hand!
