Stanley Cup Sold for $2,000

Stanley Cup Sold for $2,000

As we previously reported, a miniature version of the 1978-79 Stanley Cup was up for grabs in 2010-11 Panini Dominion Hockey as a redemption. It didn't take long for the unique item to  be claimed. Since Dominion's release just a few weeks ago, the redemption was pulled, the Cup was delivered and it has already been resold.

Ernest Lantto of Ypsilanti, Michigan originally pulled the redemption for the trophy, which was being kept at Panini headquarters. Although he was excited by the amazing pull, the excitement must not have lasted long as he promptly sold the trophy on eBay for $2,000. This was lower than Lantto's original asking price of $7,500. Panini originally bought the trophy at auction for more than $4,000.
