Dez Bryant Fails to Show at Autograph Signing

The bad press continues for Dez Bryant, the talented Dallas Cowboys receiver. Collectors' Showcase of America (CSA) has accused Bryant of not appearing at a signing event last month in New Jersey. This comes after a season marred by drama with veteran players over refusing to carry pads, being kicked out of a local mall, and lawsuits based on jewelry and sports ticket debts.

According to a liaison for CSA, as reported by the Dallas Observer, Bryant was to be paid $10,000 for his scheduled 90-minute appearance. Travel expenses and accommodations had also been made for three round-trip flights, three hotel rooms in Edison, a limo ride to Atlantic City and hotel rooms there, including a luxury suite. Bryant's actions resulted in a $7,000 loss and a lawsuit is expected if restitution is not made.

The event, held by CSA at the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison, included many other current NFL players such as Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, Sam Bradford and Brian Urlacher. Several of Bryant's teammates also appeared, including DeMarcus Ware, Miles Austin and Jason Witten. NFL legends at the event were highlighted by Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Bo Jackson and Joe Greene.

Yesterday, 2011 Hall of Fame inductee Deion Sanders, a one-time mentor to Bryant, said that he was worried for Bryant. Sanders severed ties with the troubled player based on Bryant's actions and behavior.
