Bizarre Maryland Football Jerseys Up for Auction
The new age of college football has brought with it an obsession for unique and, sometimes, bizarre jerseys. Almost every week, it seems like a team is showcasing a new hybrid edition of their regular uniforms.
If you flipped to the Maryland versus Miami game last Sunday, you were greeted with an unusual mash of color thanks to the Terrapins' Maryland Pride Collection. Based on the Maryland state flag, the Under Armour uniforms featured two distinct designs on both the helmets and jerseys that were split down the middle of the player.
Due to an overwhelming response, the University of Maryland announced that they're auctioning ten helmets and ten jerseys to benefit Maryland Athletics. All items are authentic but were not used in the game.
The bidding has been strong since it started Friday with all the helmets currently between $1000 and $1600. Bidding on jerseys currently ranges from $550 to $900. Bidding ends September 19th.
