eBay Idiot of the Week: The Shipping Nazi
This week's eBay Idiot doesn't believe in the age-old business adage, “The Customer is Always Right." Instead, he prefers to ship customers damaged cards and then swear at them when they complain.
Shipping sports cards in a plain-white-envelope (PWE) is reason enough to be called an “eBay Idiot," but this seller takes the title to a whole new level with his spectacular customer service. You'll understand what I mean after reading the following comments from the seller's “Feedback" profile:

I'd like to say “Buyer Beware," but how many of us actually read all the seller's negative feedback before every purchase? I will periodically browse through the feedback, but if it's above a certain percentage I'll often just assume everything will be OK.

The seller's response to the damaged cards is commonly “I charged very little for shipping, so this is what you should expect!" As A buyer, I take offense to that. The seller's job is to get the product into the buyer's hands as quickly as possible, after payment has been received. If a seller does not charge anything for shipping that doesn't mean they don't have to ship it. Likewise, if a seller charges little for shipping, it does not give them the right to ship an item in a way where it is susceptible to damage.
