The National Sports Collectors Convention

About
Back in 1980 a small handful of sports card collectors convened upon the Marriott at the Los Angeles International Airport for what would later become known as the First National Sports Collectors Convention. This relatively small gathering has evolved over time  into the annual spectacular that is today - the number one event for the entire sports collectibles industry. Hoping to get collectors from across the nation involved, the founders of the The National Sports Collectors Convention insisted that the event take place at various cities so that collectors from all over could take part. In its infancy, the National Sports Collectors Convention took place in Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, and the New York metro area.

The National Sports Collectors Convention has since increased in size, becoming a huge event that can only be accommodated by a handful of large cities across the nation. However, the convention still draws visitors from every corner of the country, and from every area of the trading card and memorabilia industry. The National Sports Collectors Convention is a massive melting pot of major professional sports licensing agencies, sports card companies, card grading services, autograph authenticators, auction houses, collectors, and dealers. Over 700 sports card and collectible dealers set up booths at the event, selling an estimated 80 million dollars worth of sports cards and memorabilia in the process.

The National Sports Collectors Convention is renowned for its incredible selection of autograph guests.  In years past, the National has produced such superstars as Joe Dimaggio, Wayne Gretzky, Cal Ripken Jr., Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Joe Namath, Shaquille O'Neal, Mickey Mantle, and countless other great athletes. In recent years, the The National's Autograph Pavilion has added big shots from the entertainment world to the shows autograph lineup.  The famous rock group KISS, director Penny Marshall, and TV stars Ruth Buzzi, Erin Moran, David Faustino, Jon Provost, Cindy Williams, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon have all signed autographs at The National Sports Collectors Convention.

The National Sports Collectors Convention is the largest trading card and memorabilia event with the richest history. It features the most impressive autograph guests, the widest range of dealers, and the most impressive variety of memorabilia and cards, all in one place. The popular saying sums it up accurately and succinctly, "If you can't find what you're looking for at the National, it probably doesn't exist!"
