Brittney Griner Autograph Cards on the Way from Leaf

Brittney Griner Autograph Cards on the Way from Leaf

Update (5/29/13): Leaf has announced the Brittney Griner autograph cards will be offered exclusively on eBay tonight, beginning at 10PM EST (7PM PST).

Leaf has announced they're releasing the first-ever Brittney Griner autograph cards. In fact, other than a Sports Illustrated for Kids card, it's her first-ever basketball cards.

Leaf will sell the cards direct to collectors through eBay. All are signed on-card. Leaf says that quantities are extremely limited. Besides a regular version, there are also parallels numbered as low as 1/1.

Griner is a two-time AP Player of the Year and is regarded as one of the top women's basketball prospects ever. She was taken first overall by the Phoenix Mercury in last month's WNBA draft. Thanks in part to her height, Griner is a major threat on both ends of the court. Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, even suggested he might consider drafting Griner.

Ryan's collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection. 1. Too bad shops won’t be able to offer these cards to their collectors first. I understand if no product release was lined up, but still.
