Brian Kong To Appear at Upcoming National Sports Collectors Convention

Sports and Entertainment artist Brian Kong will be appearing at this year's National Sports Collectors Convention (July 29 - August 2, 2009, www.nsccshow.com) at Booth #1046 in the Corporate Section (Beckett Media) where he will be on hand to meet with fans and to discuss his upcoming projects. Collectors who place an order for $250 or more with Beckett Grading at the show will receive a bonus encapsulated personal sketch card made by Brian. This offer will be limited to 1 per person while supplies last.

He will be accepting commissions on-site and offering a variety of original art for sale including his original paintings from this year's Allen and Ginter "Highlights " insert set as well as the b/w preliminaries. Additionally, Brian will have his 1/1 original artist proofs sketch cards from the 2009 Topps Baseball Series 1 and 2 sets and artist proofs from other licensed trading card sets such as Star Wars, Marvel, and Lord of the Rings for purchase. He will even be selling his own personal brand of sketch cards. Stop by his table to see some of his work from the Heroes, Dexter, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones sets and to learn more about the world of sketch cards.

Not able to make the National in Cleveland? Brian will be at Wizard World Chicago the following weekend August 6-9, 2009. The event, which is being helpis at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL , is a celebration of Comics, Sci-Fi and Pop culture. Brian will be at booth #3400 in Artist Alley.

Brian Kong: A Brief History

Brian has worked professionally in comics and advertising since 1994. He first started at Marvel comics doing pin-ups and covers for Fantastic Four unlimited, Captain America, X-Force, Thor and. Namor He then went on to do various projects for Malibu Comics, Acclaim Comics and Tekno Comics. When not working on sketch cards, Brian works on storyboards for ad campaigns for clients such as Universal Studios Theme Park and Korbel Media and is also the Art Director for Big Apple Conventions in NYC.

From 2001 to 2004 Brian produced over 25 custom comics for several MLB and NBA teams including the Yankees, Mets, Dallas, Mavericks and Miami Heat, which were distributed at stadiums and arenas across the country. For the past three years Brian has been working on sketch cards for a multitude of different trading card brands, including Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, NBA and MLB.

He has recently completed a 25 card painted insert set for the 2009 Topps Allen and Ginter property, as well as a host of original sketch card inserts seeded in the recently released X-MEN archives set from Rittenhouse and Showtime's "DEXTER" trading card set. He has also created sketch cards for the upcoming Justice League and Spiderman archives card sets from Rittenhouse.
