Upper Deck Announces Plans for the National

Upper Deck has released details on some of their promotions for the 2011 National and collectors will likely be pleased by all that's available in Chicago this year.

The events begin on Wednesday, August 3rd with an exclusive six-card set. The checklist includes Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, LeBron James, Bobby Orr and Landon Donovan. It is exclusive to VIP ticket holders and the only time it can be redeemed is during the VIP "Sneak Peak" at the beginning of the convention.

The rest of the National will feature a daily lineup of exclusive five-card sets that can be redeemed as part of the Upper Deck foil pack redemption program. Collectors will need to buy at least five packs of specified Upper Deck products from a Certified Diamond Dealer at the show. They will then get a voucher that earns them the daily set of cards. Upper Deck will be accepting the redemption vouchers from 12 PM to 1:30 PM each day. The company will list the full checklists, applicable products and the retailers that are selling them at the show. The packs must be opened at the booth in view of an Upper Deck representative once the voucher is presented. Highlights of each card set are listed below:

Another promotion will center around Upper Deck UNC Basketball. Collectors who purchase a hobby box of the North Carolina product from a Certified Diamond Dealer will receive a raffle ticket making them eligible for several prizes that will be given out at 5 PM on August 6th. Included in these items will be an autographed Michael Jordan North Carolina jersey from Upper Deck Authenticated.

As an added interactive promotion, Upper Deck will give two collectors a chance to battle for prizes by assembling a large version of their new "Curve" memorabilia displays. These showdowns will take place twice daily from Thursday to Sunday at 11 AM and 3 PM.

Finally, Upper Deck will have some of the more unique cards on display at the National. 2011 Goodwin Champions will represented by full display sets of the Animal Kingdom patch cards and Entomology cards. The set of Evolution video cards from 2011 Upper Deck Football will also be highlighted at the Upper Deck booth.

Visit the Upper Deck blog for complete information. Also, a flyer is available that can be presented at booth #634 for a free product sample of the new Signature Safe. This new product allows collectors to safely transport autographed 8 x 10 photos in a convenient way.
