Panini’s Video Cards Featured on Fox News

Panini enjoyed some mainstream airtime last week as Fox News played a segment on cards that are making waves in the hobby world. Although they are not the first video cards, but based on eBay sales, Panini's HRX cards have proven to be more valuable than Upper Deck's Evolution cards. Fox News visited Panini's headquarters in July to shoot the footage for the story. The segment features a behind-the-scenes look at the cards as well as an interview with the Panini VP of Marketing, Jason Howarth. Panini revealed that the specific air date for the segment was changed several times due to the Casey Anthony trial.

The segment on the cards can be viewed here.

The HRX cards appeared first in 2010-11 Totally Certified Basketball. Several of the rare cards have already been pulled by collectors. Each of Panini's four exclusive players (Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and John Wall) are featured with 40 regular cards and 10 autographed versions.

Our review of 2010-11 Totally Certified can be read here.
