Derrick Williams Signs with Panini

Fans of Derrick Williams now have two things to celebrate. He was already expected to go in the top three in the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Now he has signed an exclusive deal with Panini, joining other exclusive NBA players like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and John Wall. Griffin and Wall were both first-overall picks and the deal with Williams shows that Panini thinks highly of his prospects.

The agreement with Panini means that autographs and memorabilia from Derrick Williams will only be found in Panini products. Williams will be featured on upcoming Panini's NBA packaging. He will also be included in national advertising. Collectors can find the first official trading card of Derrick Williams in 2011-12 Panini Prestige.

Derrick Williams spent two season at the University of Arizona before declaring for the draft and put up some impressive stats, being named Pac-10 Player of the Year during the 2010-11 season. More information about Williams and other possible top picks can be found in our articles about the 2011 NBA draft. Find Part One here and Part Two here.

Panini has had an exclusive license with the NBA since the 2009-10 season. More information about upcoming basketball products will be posted on the site as soon as they become available.
