USA Baseball Contest Offers Game-Used Memorabilia All Summer Long
Using its new promotion, 9 Innings of Summer, USA Baseball hopes to bring attention to the team by giving away memorabilia from players that have worn the red, white and blue. The contest started on June 22nd with the start of the Tournament of Stars and will run until October 25th, the last day of the Pan American games. Ninety total prizes will be awarded over the next four months.
In the contest, every other Wednesday beginning on June 22nd starts a new "inning." USA Baseball will post the ten prizes to be awarded during that inning on their Twitter page between 10 AM and 12 PM EST. Each weekday, the specific prize available will be highlighted along with detailed instructions on how to win the prize between 2 PM and 4 PM EST. Each day will bring a new phrase to be re-tweeted that will win the prize.
As an example, yesterday's tweet read: #USAB9Innings giveaway @Dodgers Clayton Kershaw's game-used hat; ow.ly/i/bEln 22RT @USABaseball wins; ow.ly/5mqJN #collect
This means that the 22nd person to retweet the note from USA Baseball would win a game-used hat of Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
