The Derek Jeter 2007 Topps Baseball card that featured Mickey Mantle and George W. Bush Photoshopped into the background was one of the most popular cards of the last decade. It's 1/1 has popped onto eBay with a $4,999 buy it now or best offer price tag.
The card sent the collecting into a craze when it originally came out. Collectors of all types scrambled to find the card, which caused the prices of the base card to sky rocket for about a week until the card came back down to realistic levels.
For Derek Jeter collectors, the base card is one any fan would love to own. It's just a small piece of fun, but it was a polarizing Many collectors did not appreciate Topps changing the reality of the card by skewing the image.
