Autographed Babe Ruth Baseball Featured in Weekly Heritage Auction
The weekly sports auction hosted Heritage is normally a great place for collectors to buy and sell mid-range items that might otherwise get lost in a big-time sale. However, this week's offering is showcases an item that is definitely on the higher end.
A Babe Ruth single-signed baseball with an estimated value of $6,000 to 8,000 is available and bidding has already reached $5,000. The ball was obtained when two baseballs were signed by Ruth for an employee at the hospital where the slugger was being treated for cancer. The employee then gifted the autographed balls to his two nephews, one of whom has now consigned the ball with Heritage. The ball was previously listed for sale through Heritage but the reserve price was not met.
