2011 MLB All-Star Fan Fest Promotions and Hall of Fame Display Details
More details are emerging about the 2011 Major League Baseball All-Star Fan Fest at the Phoenix Convention Center as the dates come closer. The Baseball Hall of Fame will have an exhibit on-site with plans to bring over 100 artifacts from the museum in Cooperstown. Interesting items that highlight the exhibit include a Dodgers baseball cap worn by Jackie Robinson during Brooklyn's sole World Championship in 1955. Also, the hat worn by Curt Schilling after 9/11 through to the World Series will be on display as well as the bat used by Luis Gonzalez when he drove in the game-winning run during Game 7 of the 2001 World Series to seal Arizona's first title.
The MLB also announced a new addition to the Fan Fest experience by detailing themed promotional days. Each day of the experience, which runs from July 8th to 12th, will have a specific designation and corresponding giveaway.
Designations and giveaways are listed below.
July 8th - Military Appreciation Day
The first 1,200 fans aged 4 to 18, will receive a limited edition "Lil' Teammates" figurine.
July 9th - Heritage Day
The first 1,200 eligible fans will get a commemorative Heritage Day, MLB All-Star Fan Fest pin.
July 10th - Kids Day
The first 1,200 children aged 4 to 18, can get an Arizona Diamondbacks "Baxter the Bobcat" figurine.
July 11th - Hall of Fame Monday
The first 1,200 children aged 4 to 18, will get a limited-edition State Farm Mascot Home Run Derby commemorative pin.
July 12th - Championship Tuesday
The first 5,000 fans will receive a commemorative, mini 2001 World Series pennant in honor of the tenth anniversary of Arizona's 2001 Championship.
