Autograph Sessions and Bobby Orr’s Rookie Jersey Highlight Summit II Show

The excitement is building for the Summit II Sports Collectible Show this weekend in Central Alberta. The event promises autograph sessions, memorabilia displays, a silent auction and dealers from across North America.

The show that bills itself as "the largest sports collectibles show in Western Canada" takes place Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, which is just outside Edmonton. Edmonton Oilers legends scheduled to appear for autograph sessions include Glenn Anderson, Andy Moog, Bill Ranford, Grant Fuhr, Kelly Buchberger and Dave Semenko. In The Game will be at the event hosting a wrapper promotion. They'll also be debuting their latest hockey set, Decades - The 1980's.

One of the more intriguing exhibits at the show will be the one that highlights Bobby Orr's rookie jersey. In addition to being the sweater the Hall of Famer wore during his first NHL season in 1966-67, there is an interesting story behind this piece of hockey history. During this era, it was common for teams to "recycle" jerseys to their lower affiliates of the organization after several years of use. The jerseys used that season were ultimately sent down to the Niagara Falls Flyers who changed the uniforms to include their logo. Over the years, the jersey was located through photos and is now only the second jersey known to exist from Orr's playing days. There will also be an exhibit form the Canadian National Hockey Museum.

Admission to the show is $7 for adults and kids 12 and under are free. Visit the show's website for more information.
