2014 Upper Deck Marvel Premier isn't your average Marvel trading card product. From a strictly price perspective, it's like going from buck-a-slice pizza to chartering a plane and heading to the finest deep-dish pizzeria Chicago has to offer. Needless to say, this is a rare comic card product that targets the ultra-premium market.

Boxes come with just five cards: two base cards or parallels, one sketch card, one multi-panel sketch and one premium insert.

The 2014 Upper Deck Marvel Premier base set has 60 cards, all featuring newly commissioned art. They're also numbered to 199 total copies. This is up slightly from the 2012 edition that has 50 cards. Parallels include Gold Spectrum (#/25) and Red Spectrum (1/1).

The base set also has sketch card variants. These come with original art offering the artist's take on the featured character. Base variant sketch cards are inserted one per pack.

Every pack also comes with one sketch card that has anywhere from two to four panels. Two-panel cards (1:2 packs) are done as books. Triple (1:3 packs)- and quad-panel (1:6 packs) cards are folded to make for larger images.

Premium inserts come from a variety of sets. Emotion book cards return. Jason Adams returns to do more original art in his distinct style, just as the first set. He's joined by other artists as well. The sset has 18 cards, all numbered to 50.

Code Name (42 cards, 1:1.75 packs) puts a Marvel spin on manufactured letter cards. Collectors can build a character's name one letter at a time.

Classic Covers Shadow Box cards (42 cards, 1:2.25 packs) take iconic artwork from Marvel's history and recreates it with a layered, multidimensional look.
