2013-14 Panini Timeless Treasures Basketball Hot List

2013-14 Panini Timeless Treasures Basketball Hot List

2013-14 Panini Timeless Treasures Basketball is the company's first high-end offering of the new NBA season. Granted, it's not on the same level as some of their late-season offerings, but with single-pack boxes around the $100 mark, there is some pressure to deliver the hits.

The set delivers three hits per box, two autographs and a memorabilia card. With just five cards in a box, there are more autographs in the product than base cards.

Last year, rookie cards were autographs encased between pieces of acetate. Panini has taken it up a notch, adding memorabilia swatches to the mix. It looks as though the sticker signatures are gone as well, which limited the visual flair of the concept somewhat last year. The result is a more premium look and feel. In total, there are 35 Rookie Jersey Autographs in 2013-14 Panini Timeless Treasures Basketball including Michael Carter-Williams, Victor Oladipo and Nerlens Noel.

The set isn't just rookies, though. As the name suggests, subjects span generations. Retired stars and Hall of Famers have plenty of autographs and memorabilia cards. Nowhere is this more evident than in Timeless Signatures, a 49-card insert set that's all retired player autographs. Highlights include short prints of Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It's more likely you'll land players like Scott Skiles and Rod Strickland, strong players in their day but not exactly the hobby's elite.

New this year is Every Player Every Game memorabilia cards. The memorabilia set is highlighted by big swatches that look even more impressive when a patch is added to the mix. The Every Player Every Game checklist is big, clocking in at 100 cards.
