2013-14 Panini Playbook Hockey CardsBrand: Panini Playbook
2013-14 Panini Playbook Hockey marks the brand's debut on the ice. After a couple of football sets, the book card-per-box configuration carries over for a high-end release. Boxes come with just three cards, one of which is a booklet autograph or memorabilia card. A traditional autograph or relic is also in every box.
The 2013-14 Panini Playbook Hockey base set has 100 cards. With one per box, putting it together is going to be a challenge. In addition to the regular versions, base cards have three numbered parallels: Gold (#/50), Holo-Silver (#/25) and one-of-one Purple.
Book cards come with a variety of themes. Some have just memorabilia, others come signed. Signature Booklets highlight's NHL stars with relics and autographs. Split Decisions Booklets spotlight great goalie moves and use the larger format to have the image cross over onto both sides of the book.
As one would expect with two years worth of players to choose from, rookies play a big part in the set. Rookie Booklets are numbered to 199 and have both an autograph and memorabilia. Prime parallels are numbered to 25 while Patch versions are limited to 5 numbered copies each. Double Rookie Class Booklets have memorabilia from a pair of rookie standouts.
Among the more traditional hits are First Drafts Signatures, which are autographed cards that picture stars on their Draft Day.
